Featured HAFshop Artist Rasmussen Gems & Jewelry LLC.

This weeks Featured Artist is Rasmussen Gems and Jewelry LLC.  Debora and John are the proud and very talented artists that create amazing handcrafted jewelry, which I wrote about in my Nov 20th post > Click Here.  Since my November post, I am excited to blog about the new products available in their shop. To wit: Faceted Stones, Faceting Rough, and hand cut Cabochons.

Here are pictures of the New Faceted and New Faceting Rough stones they have in their shop. Click on the captions under each picture for more information.

Now, before I talk about Cabochons, I have to admit I had no idea what a Cabochon was or even how to pounce the word.  Hey... at least I am honest. LOL  Therefore, I started my investigation into this word by going to Webster’s Dictionary.  This reliable source says: (literally)
Now, I know the definition and pronunciation, so I can add to my word-stock and basic knowledge of gemstones. But, I wanted to be more knowledgeable, so I could discuss the topic more intelligently. (one doesn't want to be embarrassed if asked how they are made, do they? I don't, ... LOL).

Therefore, I found out more information on cabochons by going to the International Gem Society (currently John is a member). Here is the link > IGS  After reading all of this information, I have a new appreciation for John's education, skill, and experience. It is reflected in his BIO > Dr. John
These are some of the cabochons you will find at his shop. If you click on this link or the picture to find out more information about these beautiful gemstones.

In conclusion, I use word association to remember important people, places, and things. John is all of these and more. So, I think Cabo-John sounds like Cabochon... and I won't ever forget either because you can always see cabochons at Rasmussen Gems and Jewelry LLC at the Handmade Artists' Shop. (Gee, I wonder what word association I can use for Rasmussen?... LOL)

Thank you for stopping by and have a fantastic day.  Cari
